10 Years Anniversary of Vorna

English:

A while ago, while scrolling through Facebook, I noticed an event: „10 years Vorna“. Hmm, somehow the name seems familiar but from where? Oh yes, that’s the band I’ve been told so many times that I would find them great. Ten year band anniversary, what better time could it be, for me to take a closer look at the band? Especially as the concert is right here in Tampere and I have no plans for the evening yet, so why not.

Support act is Drearyym. I still remember them, but it’s been quite a while since I saw the guys from Lempäälä live. Fortunately, I still knew from last time, how well the show was already nearly two years ago. Otherwise it wouldn’t come into my mind, that I could like a mix of melodic death / folk / black metal. In my opinion, the boys have meanwhile increased significantly. The seven songs, including a Tommi Läntinen cover (Via Dolorosa), are just right to heat up the audience, which is also urgently needed.  (Note: I think it’s kinda cool when guys knit too, but during a concert – and while the band is playing – in the front part of the audience, it’s kinda weird.)

Vorna then has it really easy to delight the audience. Well, most fans are anyway obviously here because of them. The show is a trip through the band’s history, there is everything, from old demos (Snowcovered country) to brand new never played songs (Syvyydet). For me, the whole thing is completely new. I intending to listen to a couple of songs before the concert, but somehow that did not happen and so I got to see the show completely unbiased. Such a small time travel through the last ten years is quite funny and somehow exciting, but on the other hand, I’m not totally thrilled. I wouldn’t need Vorna concerts all the time, I think maybe for the 15 anniversary it would be nice to attend a show again.
